Hi! My name is Sally Amkoa. I was born and raised in Kenya but moved to the US for college. My experiences navigating adulthood alone in a foreign country rekindled my passion for storytelling as a way to process complex and unfamiliar emotions.
My storytelling portfolio includes performances at the Frist Art Museum, Tenx9 Nashville Storytelling and the Porch Writer's Collective. My essays have been published on Chapter16 and Medium. I'm also a trained Narrative 4 story exchange facilitator.
I completed a teaching fellowship at Harvard Kennedy School, in an Executive Education course called Public Narrative, Leadership, Storytelling and Action. In this role, I worked with leaders from across the world to help them surface powerful stories from their lives to inspire action in their communities.
When I'm not telling stories, I'm a financial analyst in the healthcare industry. I have a BA in Economics and an MS in Business Analytics from the University of Cincinnati. I also have an MBA in Finance from the University of Hartford.
